Annual Safe Summer Children’s Carnival at Falleti Ice Arena

The Genesee County AmeriCorps Program, in collaboration with the Genesee County and Batavia Youth bureaus, is planning the annual Safe Summer Children’s Carnival. It is open to the public and will take place on Thursday, July 28, from 10:15 a.m. until 2 p.m. at Falleti Ice Arena, 22 Evans St., in Batavia. One dollar buys a ticket to play 10 games, and children can win “funny money” to redeem for prizes. Entertainment by “Charlie and Checkers” is scheduled from 10:15-11 a.m. and the games will run from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. with a 30-minute lunch break.

Free community talk on coping with cancer at Terry Hills Banquet Facility

Annual Sons and Mothers Mud Run at John Kennedy School

On Friday, June 3rd, the annual Sons and Mothers Mud Run will be held at John Kennedy School in Batavia. It is sure to be a fun, muddy, messy event! There will be cool new obstacles, two DJ’s, food, and hopefully a few volunteers from the City fire department will be there at the “hosing down” station.

‘Unplugged’ at The Salvation Army — family games and activities

Unplug and enjoy quality, family time for all ages at The Salvation Army on East Main Street, Batavia. Starting at 7 p.m. there will be games and activities for all ages and families. This includes adult coloring and puzzles, bounce house, and at 7:30 an adult Yahtzee contest. There will also be Wii Frisbee Disk Golf and Outdoor Challenge, apples to apples, headbands and more! At 9 p.m. there will be a teen life-size Tic-Tac-Toe game. Plus popcorn and snacks, too!

GC Youth Bureau hosts Family Game Night at County Building #2

In celebration of County Government Month, families will get to learn about what all of our county departments have to offer. For a family of 4, it would cost $10 or $3 for an individual to visit all of the booths, receive dinner which consists of pizza, fruit, veggies, water and milk and each family leaves with a brand new board game of their choice! Tea, cookies and social at college featuring talk on fashion design process

“The Making of a fashion designer.” Genesee Community College Fashion Design, Business and Computer Information Systems Professor, Donna Ehrhart, will be speaking at the Tea X Design event on Wednesday, March 30, 2016 from 1 – 2 p.m. in room T119, at the Batavia Campus Center. Guests will be invited to enjoy an afternoon tea and cookies social in addition to hearing about the fashion design process. Professor Ehrhart will explain how an individual can bring an idea from conception to the marketplace.

Corfu-Pembroke Community Winterfest at the community center

The Corfu-Pembroke Community Winterfest will be held from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. this Saturday, Jan. 30 at the Pembroke Community Center. It’s located at 116 E. Main St. in Corfu. Music, entertainment, food, prizes, raffles and more are in store so join your friends and neighbors for a good time. Bring canned goods and non-perishables for door prize tickers to benefit the Pembroke-area food/meals programs. Admission is free to this family-friendly event. Cole All-Star Circus performs at Le Roy HS gym to benefit Class of 2016

Billy Martin’s Cole All-Star Circus — “The Original and Best!” — will perform at 7 p.m., Thursday, Jan. 21, in the gymnasium at Le Roy High School to benefit the Class of 2016. Tickets are $10 in advance for adults, or $15 at the door. Kids 12 and younger attend free with paid adult. Tickets available at the school office.
