A car vs. bicyclist accident with injuries is reported at the intersection of East Main Street and Clinton Street in the city. Batavia PD is on scene. Mercy medics and city fire are responding.

Burning of rubber and construction material reported in Byron

Someone is reportedly burning rubber and construction materials on property at the northeast corner of Walkers Corner Road and Caswell Road in Byron.

Byron Fire Department is responding, along with law enforcement and a representative from the Department of Environmental Conservation.

Accident partially blocking traffic at School and Center streets in the city

A two-car accident is reported in the city at Center and School streets downtown. It is partially blocking traffic. Occupants are out; one male has a minor head injury and is conscious and alert. City fire, Mercy medics and police are on scene. Two flatbed tows are called.

Semi on its side, driver unable to exit on West Main Street Road, Batavia

A box-style semitruck is on its side at 3977 W. Main Street Road in Batavia and the driver unable to exit the vehicle, according to a caller to dispatch. Law enforcement and Mercy medics are responding along with Town of Batavia Fire Department.

UPDATE 11:57 p.m.: The driver is conscious; a heavy-duty tow truck is needed to upright the vehicle. It's estimated weight is 73,000 pounds, unknown cargo in rear trailer.

Equipment ruptures gas line on Telephone Road in Pavilion

A piece of equipment struck and ruptured a natural gas pipeline at 7290 Telephone Road. Pavilion Fire Department is responding. The location is east of Perry Road, on the south side of the roadway.

Large grass fire reported in Bergen

A large grass fire is reported at 8289 Sackett Road in Bergen. It is about 30 from a structure a dispatcher called "a shop." The location is between North Lake and West Sweden roads. Bergen Fire Department is responding.

UPDATE 1:21 p.m.: Byron's brush truck is called to provide mutual aid. A couple of vehicles are now involved in the blaze.

Skateboarder struck by vehicle on Colorado Avenue in the city

A skateboarder has been struck by a vehicle at 16 Colorado Ave. in the City of Batavia. The location is between Ellicott Place and Harvester Avenue. City fire and Mercy medics are responding.

UPDATE 8 p.m.: The skateboarder is conscious and alert and being evaluated by medics at the scene. Unknown injuries, if any. The black Jeep in the forefront of the photo allegedly struck the skateboarder.

UPDATE: The patient was transported to Strong Memorial Hospital for evaluation. He is a juvenile. No further information is available. No charges anticipated.

Accident with pole down reported in Stafford

A one-car accident is reported just west of the intersection of East Bethany-Le Roy Road and Roanoke Road in Stafford. The vehicle struck a pole and it is down. Wires are possibly in the roadway.

The operator was out of the vehicle and "walking toward Le Roy," says the dispatcher, and is now with a first responder. It is unknown if the driver is injured. Stafford Fire Department and Mercy medics are responding.

UPDATE 8:26 a.m.: A deputy at the scene reports heavy front-end damage and calls for a flatbed tow truck. The vehicle is about 15 feet off the roadway.

UPDATE 8:28 a.m.: The pole is snapped in half and a heavy wire is hanging low over the roadway.

Truck on fire by gas pumps at Crosby's store in Pavilion

A pickup truck on fire with flames showing, 10 feet from the gas pumps, is reported at the Crosby's gas station and convenience store in Pavilion, 6316 Telephone Road. Pavilion Fire Department is responding.

Male in custody on the Southside of the city after foot pursuit by cops

A male suspect was just taken into custody on the Southside of the city following a brief foot pursuit by Batavia police. We did not hear what prompted the manhunt, which was in the area of Wood Street, Cherry Street, and Pringle Avenue.

UPDATE 5:11 p.m.: Per Det. Eric Hill, Batavia PD, this was juvenile matter and no further information will be released.

Pole and wires blocking Darien Alexander Townline Road

A pole and wires are down in the roadway at 10797 Darien Alexander Townline Road, Darien. Contractors are on scene. The roadway is temporarily closed. Darien Fire Department was called, then asked to hold in quarters. The location is between Bowen Road and Route 238.

Pickup truck driver reportedly seen loading up with Town of Le Roy rocks

A pickup truck in the area of Circular Hill Road in Le Roy was reported at a rock pile and the driver was loading rocks into the bed of the truck. A Le Roy police officer says he found tracks from the truck, which has left the scene. The rocks are said to belong to the Town of Le Roy.
