Two-car accident with injuries reported on Thruway

A two-car accident with injuries is reported on the Thruway in the eastbound lanes at mile marker 378.4.

Le Roy fire and ambulance are responding.

Traffic is getting backed up.

UPDATE (11:35 a.m.): One person is being transported to Strong hospital in Rochester. Another person is being transported to Lakeside hospital in Brockport.

Wind, snow, ice contributing to accidents, cars off the road

There have been multiple reports of cars off the road in various parts of the county and a couple of accidents.

Currently, a car is off the road with unknown injuries at 1045 Perry Road. The caller did not see anybody get out of the car.

Bethany Fire is just clearing the scene of a two-car property damage accident on Route 63.

One car is reportedly stuck in the middle of the road on State Street Road near Saile Drive.

UPDATE 11:55 a.m.: The accident on Route 63 was a car into a tree and two people were injured. They're being transported to UMMC now.

UPDATE 12:44 p.m.: Car has hit a pole in the area of East Road and Dublin Road, unknown injuries. The vehicle is leaking fluids. Bethany Fire dispatched.

UPDATE 1:15 p.m.: Vehicle off the road, still occupied, in the area of 5669 Ellicott Street Road.

Dump truck rollover reported on Lewiston Road

A dump truck has reportedly rolled over on Lewiston Road near the Thruway bridge, Town of Batavia.

Unknown injuries.

Town of Batavia Fire and Mercy EMS responding.

UPDATE 9:13 a.m.: The dump truck is on its side, fully loaded. There is a reported injury from the car that struck the truck.

Rollover accident, no injuries, on Route 5 in Pembroke

A one-vehicle rollover accident is reported on Route 5, west of Indian Falls Road, in Pembroke. There are no injuries, but a medic is called to evaluate in an infant who was in the vehicle.

Car off the road on Vallance Road, Le Roy

A car is reported off the road at 8237 Vallance Road in Le Roy. There are injuries. Le Roy fire and ambulance are responding.

UPDATE (2:36 p.m.): The injuries were deemed minor. No transport needed. Units back in service.

Motor-vehicle accident on North St. Road, Le Roy

A motor-vehicle accident with injuries is reported at 8452 Lake St. Road in LeRoy.

The location is between Route 19 and North Street Road.

Unreasonable speed on wet road blamed for accident in Le Roy

A Pavilion resident suffered non-life threatening injuries Monday morning when a car he was driving slid off the road in Le Roy and struck a tree.

Charles A. Sisnett, 22, of Creek Road, Pavilion, was cited for allegedly driving too fast for conditions.

Sisnett was in the area of 9845 Roanoke Road, Le Roy, at 9:45 a.m., when he apparently lost control of the 1998 Chevy sedan he was driving.

He reportedly told Deputy Chris Parker that he swerved to avoid an "unknown animal."

Two-to-four car MVA reported on Thruway

Two and possibly four cars were involved in an accident on the Thruway in the area of mile marker 396.

A semi-truck reportedly is jackknifed.

Unknown injuries.

East Pembroke Fire and Mercy EMs dispatched.

UPDATE 1:32 p.m.: Two cars are smashed against a guardrail and the truck is off the side of the road. Traffic is not blocked.

UPDATE 1:40 p.m.: No injuries.

Accident on Route 33, Bergen

A two-car accident has been reported in the area of Old State Road and Route 33, Bergen.

There are no injuries reported, but one car is blocking Route 33.

Minor injury accident in Bergen

A minor-injury, hit-and-run accident is reported on Dublin Road, about a mile east of West Bergen Road.

Bergen fire and State Police are on scene. Medics are also called.

The vehicle on scene is totaled. The other, an "F-150 type" Ford pickup, probably has substantial damage. It was last seen headed eastbound on Dublin Road. It is said to be dark colored.

Police looking for red pickup allegedly involved in hit-and-run on South Main, Batavia

Attica PD has been notified of a suspected hit-and-run driver heading South on Route 98 after allegedly hitting a parked car at 7 South Main St., Batavia.

The suspect truck is a red 2004 Ford F-150.

A Batavia Police officer said the same vehicle was suspected of erratic operation yesterday.

UPDATE 5:42 p.m.: Attica PD has the vehicle stopped in Attica.

UPDATE 5:46 p.m.: A Sheriff's Deputy is on his way to Attica to get the suspect.

Driver loses consciousness on Thruway, car in a ditch

A driver reportedly lost consciousness while on the Thruway and his car went off the roadway into a ditch.

The accident occurred in the area of mile marker 398.2.

Car hits pedestrian on State Street in Batavia

A car is reported to have struck a pedestrian on State Street near Alva Place in the City of Batavia.

We have no further information at this time.

UPDATE 4:14 p.m.: According to Sgt. John Peck, it appears that a bicyclist was crossing Alva Place, head down, earphones on, and was struck by a car. Since bicyclists do not have the right-of-way in a crosswalk, the rider is most likely at fault. The driver said she wasn't going that fast. He just darted in front of her. The rider was transported to UMMC, complaining of pain in his leg and hip.

Driver says he fell asleep prior to accident on Route 98

A driver says he fell asleep just prior to his car drifting into the northbound lane of Route 98 causing a two-car accident that sent four people to the hospital.

The accident occurred at 4:58 p.m., Thursday, on Route 98 near Railroad Avenue, Alexander.

Ian L. Prial, 20, of 52 West Ave., Attica, was cited for alleged failure to keep right. He and his passenger, David P. Bartholf Jr., 19, were taken to EMMC for treatment.

The driver of the other car, Suzanne E. Wheeler, 38, of Allegheny Road, Darien Center, said she managed to slow down a bit prior to the crash. She, along with 11-year-old Logan K. Wheeler, were taken to UMMC for treatment.

The accident was investigated by Deputy Patrick Reeves.

Man accused of leaving scene of accident following rollover

A 19-year-old Silver Springs man is charged with leaving the scene of a property damage accident, driving without a license and speeding following a rollover accident in Pavilion early Thursday morning.

Nathan P. Hulme was issued three citations following an investigation by Deputy Frank Bordonaro into the 3:07 a.m. accident on Starr Road.

Neither Hulme nor his 21-year-old passenger James S. Craft were injured.

According to Bordonaro, Hulme was Northbound on Starr Road in a 2004 GMC pickup when he failed to negotiate a curve. The truck hit an embankment, a sign and then overturned and landed on its roof.

Two people injured in accident on Reuben Road, Alabama

A driver who hit a car that stalled on Reuben Road, Alabama, after it ran out of gas, said that he looked down at his radio just before he came upon the car and didn't see it in time to stop.

Two people suffered non-life-threatening injuries in the accident.

Jason G. Moneau, 33, of Summit Street, Batavia, was driving a 1991 Dodge sedan at 10:02 p.m., Friday, when he hit a car which had pulled to the side of the road in the area of 7415 Reuben Road.

A passenger of the parked car, Mae E. Hryhorenko, 30, was transported to UMMC.

Moneau was transported by ground ambulance to Erie County Medical Center.

The accident was investigated by Deputy Jason Diehl.

A handwritten note on the investigation report says, "traffic charges are pending."

Accident on 490 off-ramp leads to DWI charge

A 21-year-old Lyndonville resident is charged with DWI following a one-car accident early Tuesday morning on the I-490 off-ramp in Le Roy.

Police say Alyssa Brianne Sprague was driving too fast and moved from her lane unsafely when her 2004 Chevy sedan struck the guardrail on the off-ramp, continued onto Vallance Road, spun and struck another guardrail.

Sprague was not injured in the crash.

She was, however, charged with DWI and driving with a BAC of .08 or greater.

The accident occurred at 1:19 a.m. and was investigated by Deputy Frank Bordonaro.

Teenager injured when car hits deer in Darien

One person was injured when a car struck a deer on Bennett Road in Darien at 8:26 p.m., Monday.

Taken to UMMC with non-life-threatening injuries was 17-year-old Brittney N. Torrey.

Torrey was a passenger in a car driven by 20-year-old Matthew S. Shaffer, of Harvester Avenue, Batavia.

Neither Shaffer nor an infant in the car, Isabella A. Torrey, were injured.

No citations were issued.

The accident was investigated by Deputy Jason Diehl.
