New York gubernatorial candidate Larry Sharpe (L), will meet with citizens of Batavia to share a Sunday afternoon of music and fun on July 22.

Joining Larry will be Lieutenant Governor Candidate Andrew Hollister and Mark Glogowski, who is running for the 139th District NY Assembly seat. Music will be provided by the Old Hippies.

Alexander FD Tractor Pull, grounds open at 5, with bands, pulls, beer and food

The Alexander FD Tractor Pull continues Saturday, July 14th at the Alexander Recreation Hall grounds, Route 98, Alexander. Five classes of pulls begin at 7 o'clock.
 
Saturday begins with the grounds opening at 5 p.m. Tractor Pull will begin at 7 p.m. The beer tent will be open with live entertainment by our favorite local band "Red Creek" -- 9 p.m.

Alexander FD Tractor Pull with live music, gun and basket raffle, BBQ, clam stand, and more

The Alexander FD Tractor Pull will be this weekend -- Friday July 13th and Saturday, July 14th -- at the Alexander Recreation Hall grounds, Route 98, Alexander.  Five classes of pulls begin both nights at 7 o'clock.
 
Friday begins with a huge Basket Raffle in the Recreation Hall from 2 to 7 p.m.

48th Annual Genesee County 4-H Market Animal Auction at the fair

The  48th Annual Genesee County 4-H Market Animal Auction will be held Thursday, July 19, at the Genesee County Fair.

The auction begins at 7 p.m. in the main show ring.

New this year, 4-H members will be selling market chickens and dairy steers.

The auction will feature approximately 28 lots of market chickens, 10 goats, 19 lambs, 29 beef steers, two dairy steers and 44 hogs.

There will be a complementary buyers' dinner beginning at 5:30 p.m. at the fairgrounds, located at 5031 E. Main St., Batavia.

GLOW Corporate Cup 5K at Centennial Park to benefit YMCA

The GLOW Corporate Cup -- a 5K team race to benefit the Genesee, Livingston, Orleans, and Wyoming (GLOW) YMCA.

It starts at 6 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 2, in Centennial Park, Batavia, located at 151 State St.

The goal of this event is for local businesses to form racing teams, compete in a fun atmosphere, and crown a winner of the Corporate Cup. Following the race is AfterGLOW, the region’s largest “office party.”

14th annual Taste of Stafford: 'Old Tyme Days' with vintage farm equipment

The Stafford Historical Society will be celebrating our 14th Annual Taste of Stafford on Thursday, July 12th at Ilette Park, which is located at the corners of Route 5 and Route 237.
 
We will have food, music, and a basket auction  to be enjoyed while you visit with your neighbors.
 
The theme this year is "Old Tyme Days" featuring old vehicles and farm equipment. The hours are from 5 to 8 p.m.

The sixth annual Batavia Football Golf Outing will be held on Saturday, July 21, at Batavia Country Club. It is located at 7909 Batavia Byron Road, Batavia.

Cost is $90 per golfer / $360 per foursome.

Payment and registration is due by July 13. Please provide names of players and preferred T-shirt size.

There's a shotgun start format starting at 8 a.m. on July 21; registration is 7:15-7:45 a.m.

'Thunder in the Sticks' -- Antique, Stock, Empire State Pullers -- at WNY Gas & Steam Engine grounds on Gillate Road, Alexander

"Thunder in the Sticks" -- a day of tractor pulling, antique stock pulling, a new "sneaker pull" and five classes of Empire State Pullers -- will be held on Saturday, June 16, at the grounds of the Western New York Gas & Steam Engine Association, located at 10294 Gillate Road, Alexander.

Admission is $16.

Food and beverages available all day. Chicken BBQ available at 5 p.m.

Gates open at 8:30 a.m., pulling starts at 10 o'clock for three divisions of Antique / Stock Pull.

The third annual Stafford Firemen's Father's Day Retro Jam & Musicians Reunion is 1 to 7 p.m. on Sunday, June 17.

It will be held behind the Stafford Fire Department on Route 5 in Stafford.

Bring your own lawn chairs and coolers. A food truck will be available.
